Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair, who was only five at the time, had to become accustomed to being on the radar. In the beginning, she was a child model or actor, she won the part of Regan the possessed girl out of 600 candidates, in The Exorcist, (1973). Linda Blair rose quickly to fame and won her first Golden Globe. She was likely to win an Academy Award. But when the story leaked that some roles were actually dubbed and that a stunt dummy acted for 8 seconds in the movie, the dream ended in a shambles. Her success was evident when she was offered the lead role in a range of films like Born Innocent (#1 TV film in 1974) and Sarah T. - Portrait of A Teenage Alcoholic(1975) as well as an Exorcist II sequel Exorcist II : The Heretic. She splurged on cocaine due to the pressure of her peers at 18 years old, this resulted in the arrest of her and three years' probation. The much-publicized drug bust caused Linda to be placed on the blacklist in Hollywood and her acting career was soon reduced to B-movies and occasional TV guest appearances only
