Lucy Lawless hails from New Zealand and is an actor also a musician, singer, and performer. Her most famous performances are Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. In her role as an actress, she's most remembered and praised by the incredible role she played in Xena. Lucy played the character as Vanessa Angel after Vanessa was sick and unable to participate in the film. Lucy's performance as Xena was so successful that it earned her the right to get a spin-off series and was first released in September of 1995. Lucy's fame as an actor gained momentum after being cast on the spin-off. This show had an additional boost in cultural influence and popularity following its release. Aside from being widely recognized by her fans for the character of Xena on NBC's smash sitcom Parks and Recreation from 2012-2015, she is also well known for her recurring roles in Parks and Recreation as Diane Lewis Swanson.
